13NOV - This morning we visited the Guangzhou City Zoo.
Lions and Tigers and White Tigers and bears, Oh my! Built in 1953. Easy to say
it is not stroller friendly. We got to see the two Pandas. They were
uncharacteristically up and walking around. I think it was my first panda… We
got the abbreviated 2 hour zoo tour, but it was still a nice morning. The group
pretty much stayed together. Hunter got to feed the giraffes.
We skipped lunch and took a nap when Tian went down. Before
Kerry went down to handle the Visa paperwork, I headed down and got a
mani/pedi. It was so relaxing. I was back just in time to take Tian to 7/11 for
supplies while Kerry was at the meeting. Then it was off to “Takila” the local
authentic Mexican restaurant. Definitely one of our better meals. Almost like
home. I had a Rita and a Corona ,
Chips and Salsa and a Chicken burrito with rice and beans. Shortly after we
arrived, some other adopting families arrived.
We are now back to the room. Tian’s in her PJ’s, Kerry’s
ironing for tomorrow and Hunter is in the pool with Hanna. Just a few more
nights until we head home. Our US Consulate meeting is at 8:00am, and then I
believe we are going to the Pearl Market for some shopping. I’ll be looking for
some Jade.
It’s been a great trip and we are trying to soak it all in. Tian is really adjusting well. She is such a good baby. Never fusses, eating really well, smiling all the time and doesn’t seem shy at all. We are very blessed that Tian has made this such an easy week.
