Day 10 and 11 - A Lazy Day, Check up and a Cruise

Monday was a great day. We did almost nothing. We decided to skip the Buddist Temple, Chen House and Arts & Crafts Shopping and sleep in. All of us slept until 9am. It was a much needed night’s sleep after a travel day. We had a late breakfast and explored the hotel, finding the play area on the 4th floor. It was a bit cool for how we were dressed, but Tian didn’t seem to mind.

In the afternoon, Hunter hung out with Hanna and Kerry and I got massages. Kerry, a foot massage at 1, me, a full body at 3. And when I say full body… Whoa! They were not kidding!

Before dinner at the Macao Street Restaurant, we got some more play time in with Tian. She loves to put on our shoes. She walks best in Kerry’s flats. And she knows who’s shoes are who’s.  She picks up Hunter’s Nikes and will bring them to him and my sneakers are next to his. Next, mine come to me. Very smart little girl.

The restaurant was our best meal so far. It was family style and there was no shortage of food or drink. They had some tanks filled with lobster, crab, grouper and a few unidentifiable creatures. There was a huge prize lobster in the crab tank. At that point Kerry decided we were coming back again.

We all went down at 9 and slept until 7ish. This morning (Nov 12) we got Tian’s Visa Photo taken and her medical exam. It went perfectly. She fussed a bit, but the doc was pushing kind of hard on her little belly. Cheers to the medical staff for handling our group so quickly. In and out in about 1 hour.

It was McDonalds for lunch with the Smiths, then a 2 hour nap. When Tian sleeps, we sleep. Dinner tonight was on the Pearl River Cruise. Somehow Kerry knew the food would not be good, so they stayed at the room. The cruise was about 90 minutes and passed under 7 bridges. Each bridge was lit up differently. It was a nice way to see Guangzhou. Hunter and I had a great night. I dared him to eat a chicken foot. I said I’d give him $5.00 if he did. It didn’t take long until he mustarded up the courage and bit into it. He’s now famous in our tour group! (Of course I couldn’t have Hunter one up me, so I ate a finger too. Never again.)
